Bodega Berroja produces a Bizkaia style Txakoli known for its robustness and aging potential. One of only six permitted wineries within the Urdaibai subzone, José Ángel Carrero, founder of Berroja, was among the pioneers in planting vineyards in this area during the 1990s. His efforts contributed to the emergence of a new generation of ecologically-focused Bizkaiko Txakolina winemaking.
